Molasses Chocolate Chip Cookies

What you need

1 egg yolk

¼ cup molasses

12 tbsp sweet butter

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cup all purpose flour

½ cup dark brown sugar

½ cup granulated sugar

¾ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 ⅓ cup milk chocolate chips

1 chocolate shavings

1 fine sea salt
Instructions
1 Preheat your oven to 350 degrees 2 Combine 1 large egg with 1 egg yolk, 1/4 cup of molasses, 12 tablespoons of melted butter, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar in a large bowl and whisk until smooth and fully incorporated 3 Add 2 cups of all purpose flour, 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and mix until just combined 4 Gently fold in 1 1/3 cups of chocolate chips 5 Spoon 2 tablespoons of cookie dough onto parchment lined baking sheets leaving 2-3 inches between each scoop 6 Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 16 minutes rotating the baking sheet half way through the baking time 7 Once the cookies are golden and feel lightly set around the edges, transfer the baking sheet onto a cooling rack 8 Let the cookies cool for 10 minutes on the baking sheets before transferring them directly onto the cooling rack 9 Garnish with chocolate shavings and flaky sea salt while still warm 10 Enjoy!View original recipe
