What you need

oz italian sausage

tsp ground cumin

tsp chili powder

salt & pepper

yellow onion

red bell pepper

garlic clove

tbsp tomato paste

oz tomato sauce

cup barbecue sauce

tbsp honey

whole wheat hamburger buns

cole slaw mix

pickled beets

corn chips
Instructions
0 Place a large skillet over medium heat 1 Add the ground beef and sausage and season with 2 teaspoons of ground cumin, 2 teaspoons of chili powder and a pinch of salt and black pepper 2 Cook until browned and broken down into small pieces 3 Add the diced yellow onion, sweet bell pepper and minced garlic and cook for 3-4 minutes or until softened 4 Add 3 tablespoons of tomato paste, 8 ounces of tomato sauce, 1 cup of barbecue sauce and 3 tablespoons of honey and bring the mixture to a simmer 5 Simmer for 10 minutes stirring occasionally to bring the flavors together and thicken the mixture 6 Serve in hamburger buns topped with slaw and pickled onions or your favorite toppingsView original recipe
