What you need

egg yolk

cup half & half

tbsp granulated sugar

tsp ground cinnamon

tsp ground nutmeg

salt

tsp vanilla extract

bread

fresh fruit

confectioners sugar

maple syrup

0 Combine 3 large eggs, 3 egg yolks, 1/2 cup of half and half, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, a pinch of salt and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract in a shallow bowl and whisk until fully combined 1 Place a wide skillet or flat griddle over medium heat and grease with butter or non-stick spray 2 Soak the bread for about 30 seconds per side in the egg mixture and transfer onto the warm, greased griddle 3 Cook for about 2 minutes on the first side and once the underside is golden brown, flip the bread and cook for another 2 minutes or until both sides are golden brown and lightly caramelized 4 Transfer the french toast onto plates, top with fresh fruit and a dusting of confectioners sugar 5 Serve warm with maple syrupView original recipe
