Blackberry Mint Saké Smash

What you need

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup water

1 ½ oz blackberry jam

3 fresh mint leaves

2 oz sake

2 oz sparkling water

1 crushed ice cubes
Instructions
0 Make the blackberry simple syrup by combining 1 cup of fresh blackberries with 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over medium height heat. Once the mixture is boiling, smash the berries and then remove the saucepan from the heat and let it sit for 10 minutes. Strain if you prefer a smooth consistency 1 Add 1 1/2 ounces of blackberry simply syrup, 3 fresh blackberries and a large sprig of fresh mint into the bottom of a glass and lightly muddle to slightly break up the mint and blackberries 2 Add 2 ounces of sake and 2 ounces of sparkling water and stir to combine 3 Fill a serving glass half way with crushed ice 4 Pour the cocktail over the crushed ice and garnish with fresh blackberries and mint leavesView original recipe
