A warm and spicy ginger flavored simple syrup perfect for adding a kick of heat to cocktails and mocktails.
Combine a cup of water with a cu of granulated sugar and a cup of peeled and sliced fresh ginger in a small saucepan
Place the saucepan over medium high heat and bring the mixture to a low boil
Boil for 15 minutes occasionally stirring to ensure that all of the sugar has been brought up from the bottom of the saucepan
After 15 minutes, turn the heat off and let the saucepan sit over the stove for 30-60 minutes (depending on how boldly you prefer your ginger flavors to develop)
Carefully strain the simple syrup into a glass airtight container and discard the ginger
Chill in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks
